By Jonathan Young August 8, 2025
September Sizzles with Spectacular Events in Scarborough Ever wondered what makes Scarborough special in September? Most visitors miss these amazing events. Glowing Motorcycles and Jazz Rhythms Scarborough transforms in September. The summer crowds thin, but the excitement doesn't fade. Instead, the town hosts some of its most unique and vibrant events. The seafront comes alive with glowing motorcycles. Historic venues fill with jazz melodies. And the North Bay buzzes with surf enthusiasts. Let me show you why September might be the perfect time to visit this Yorkshire coastal gem. Goldwing Light Parade - A Dazzling Spectacle (6th September) Nothing prepares you for this sight. Imagine hundreds of Honda Goldwing motorcycles, decked in thousands of neon lights, parading along Scarborough's seafront. Music blares from their speakers as riders in fancy dress create a carnival atmosphere. The Goldwing Light Parade has become a beloved tradition since 2008. It brings thousands of bike fans to South Bay for a free seafront party. Want to see it all? Start your day at the static display on West Pier and Foreshore Road (10am-4pm). Chat with riders and admire these impressive machines up close. As evening falls, the real magic begins. Bikes gather from 6:30pm, with the parade starting at 8pm. They travel along Foreshore Road, around Marine Drive, loop at Peasholm and return to South Bay. The night ends with a spectacular fireworks display at around 9pm, courtesy of the South Bay Traders' Association. Best of all? This event has raised over £62,000 for the RNLI Scarborough and Filey Lifeboat Stations since it began.
